Life Coaching For the Beginner

What is Life Coaching? Life Coaching is a profession that is profoundly different from consulting, mentoring, a dice, therapy, or counseling.  The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client’s personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.

I am a 45 year old man who has been in the legal profession for the last 17 years.  However, most recently, I have concluded that the legal profession is no longer fulfilling for me.  Thus, I have started the process of transitioning to the medical/mental health care industry. Of course, this is not going to be an easy transition but it is one that I am looking forward to.  Although starting over is something that all of us have to do at one time or another, it is a challenge that we all face with great intensity.  Although I am starting over because of a professional change, I realize that there are those who start over due to divorce, loss of job, loss of home, separation and many other things that requires one to start over.

This week, I will chart the course of the process that I am using to start over and hoping that it will be a great coaching tool and inspiration to others who face the daunting challenge of starting over.
